How to Cash Your Adsense Check in Indonesia

As you can see. It’s more for playing and seeing how it works than any big money maker.

There are so many things I find odd about how it works. This post is about one of those, trying to get paid in US dollars if you’re not based in the US.

As my traffic went up and my AdSense placements improved, I started getting a check each month, rather than once or twice per year. I got my first check after six month on my AdSense. These checks come to me in US dollars, sent to my Indonesia address.

When I got my first check, a very happy day for me :D, I was waiting for this day. But I got a little problem. How to cash this check? I know there are several Indonesian people who run Adsense had this problem too. Here is my experience about cashing my AdSense check in Indonesia.

First Check

I cash my first Adsense check in Citibank. How to do this? To cash your AdSense check in Citibank:

1. Go to Citibank in your town with your AdSense check and photocopy you identity (Government ID (KTP), Driving license, etc) with name and address match to your AdSense Check.
2. Give your Adsense Check to Citibank’s Customer Service. S/He will check your AdSense check.
3. If your AdSense check valid, you have to pay Rp 100.000,00 as a fee.
4. You can go home and wait for 35 days.
5. You will get call from Citibank.
6. You can go to Citibank and get your money
7. Your money will convert to rupiah but you can ask s/he to give you US dollar.
8. Finally, you can enjoy your money.

Second Check

As you see, my first AdSense check need 35 days to cash. IMHO, this process to long to me. Can I reduce the time for cashing my Adsense check? Yes, I can.

I go to Kioscek to cash my second AdSense check. What is Kioscek? Kioscek is a middleman to cash your check in one day. Sound great. How to do this?

To cash your AdSense check in Kioscek:

1. Sign up as a member of kioscek.com.
2. Login into kioscek and complete your personal data.
3. To cash your check, you have to fill application form in your member area.
4. Send all documents needed to cash your AdSense check.
5. Confirm your document via SMS.
6. They will cash your adsense check and convert your money from US Dollar into Rupiah.
7. You have to pay fee for this service.

Thanks to Mr. Ketut, the owner of this service. I have to pay more to cash my Adsense check. I count this fee as my 34 days fee for my waiting time if I cash my Adsense check in Citibank. IMHO, I lose a lot of money from it

I have to pay for:

• Mail my Adsense check to Kioscek (Rp 30.000,00 for courier)
• Fee (10% from the my AdSense check)
• Convert my US into rupiah (The rate is lower than the bank’s rate CMIIW)

Can I cut the cost for cashing my AdSense check? Yes, you can cut the cost for cashing your AdSense check. I found two alternative solution for this.

First Solution

Cash your AdSense check into your US Bank. Yes, you can get US bank account. I will write about how to open US Bank account in another time

To cash your AdSense Check into US Bank:

1. First, make sure that your Adsense check is payable directly to you.
2. Fill out a deposit slip (from your US Bank).
3. Endorse (sign) the back of your AdSense check.
4. Mail your AdSense check to your US Bank.

Second Solution

You can use Electronic Fund Transfer feature from Google Adsense. I know this solution seen impossible for Indonesia, but it’s very possible

My first assumption is you already had US bank account or another bank account in the country that support for AdSense EFT. The main problem is, you have to change your country. You can ask Google Adsense to change your country for you.

If you choose this feature, your payment deposited right into your bank account instead of waiting 4 weeks for your monthly check to be sent.
